Get Charged Kit
Lower Yellowstone Rural Electric Association , in partnership with Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and Discovery Channel School, is pleased to offer the "Get Charged" kit to our local schools for (grades 5-9) classroom use. Discovery Channel’s educational division, Discovery Channel School, has created a unique program focusing on electricity. It is designed to be a valuable resource for teachers. The kit provides students with a real-world understanding of the power and purpose of electricity. Additionally, the kit tells the important story of electric cooperatives' role in bringing power to rural America. Each kit contains the following educational materials:
- Poster for classroom use
- Two videos:
- "Understanding Electricity"
- "Touchstone Energy's Our Story"
- Interactive CD-ROM featuring electricity
- Lesson plan: Get Power – The Cooperative Way
- 10 – Student activity books
- Teachers resource guide
