Getting Connected By connecting with Lower Yellowstone Rural Electrical Association, you become a voting member-owner of the cooperative. Every LYREA consumer has an equal voice in the business. Cooperatives are truly democracies in action. To receive electricity from Lower Yellowstone, you need to successfully submit an Application for Electric Service to our office. A membership fee of $10.00 is required. Once your application has been processed, you are a member with full rights and privileges. A deposit may be required when initiating service with LYREA. The minimum deposit is $150.00 or 2 times the monthly average for the service you are connecting, whichever is greater. For example, if the monthly average is $100.00 your deposit would be $200.00. The deposit may be waived if you have satisfactory credit reference from your previous utility or you have a current member in good standing guarantee for you. If you are looking to add a new service, we recommend you come to our office and talk with our Engineering department, or you can e-mail eds@lyrec.com. This will guarantee that we get the information needed to do the proper work and make sure we understand the type of service you require. Application for Electric Service:
