Annual Meeting Highlights

The 69th LYREA annual meeting was held at the Richland Youth Hockey Dome June 6, 2007.  Directors John Redman from District 3 and Dennis Schmierer from District 4 ran unopposed and were unanimously elected to another three-year term. Congratulations John and Dennis. 

The most exciting part of the evening was the drawings held throughout the evening for 6 "Luck-of-the-Draw" scholarship winners. The winners needed to be present with their parent/guardian who is a LYREA member.  The Lucky winners of the $1000.00 each scholarships were:

Tyla Kilen, Justin Messer, Chase Hall, Tara Turnbull, Ashley Hagel and Lexie Buxbaum. Congratulations to each of them!

If you did not make it to this years meeting, we hope to see you June 4, 2008 at the same location.

Scholarship Winners

The 2007 $1,000.00 Basin Scholarship was awarded to Susan Dynneson of Sidney and Allison Peterson was awarded a $500.00 Montana Electric Cooperatives' Association scholarship.

Thank you to everyone that applied for the scholarships, we wish you all much success. Congratulations to Susan and Allison, may your future be a "bright" one!

There will be (6) drawings for our "Luck of the Draw" scholarships held during our annual meeting.

Essay Winner Selected

Lower Yellowstone selected Tamara Ruffatto as this years essay winner for the "Youth to Washington Tour." Tamara wins an expense paid trip to our nation's capital this June where she will join approximatly 40 other sttudents from Montana and North Dakota, along with winners from around the nation to learn about cooperatives. Congratulations Tamara and enjoy the tour!
