2010 Annual Meeting Highlights

The 72nd LYREA annual meeting was held at the Richland Youth Hockey Dome June 2, 2010.  John Redman  representing District 3 and Dennis Schmierer representing District 4 ran unopposed and were unanimously elected to another three-year term. Congratulations to John & Dennis. 

Guest speakers were Tom Graves, CEO of Mid-West Electric Consumers Association Inc. and Gary Wiens, Assistant General Manager of Montana Electric Cooperatives' Association.

The most exciting part of the evening was the drawings held throughout the evening for "Luck-of-the-Draw" scholarship. This year the number of Scholarships was increased from 6 to 10. The winners needed to be present with their parent/guardian who is a LYREA member.  The Lucky winners of the $1000.00 each scholarships were:

Alisha Steffan, Tamara Ruffatto, Whitney Thiel, Nathan Johnson, Joni Ruffatto, Hana Paladichuk, Ryan Kopp, Siera Zimmerman, Trevor Pust & Eric Ler. Congratulations to each of them!

If you did not make it to this years meeting, we hope to see you June 1, 2011.  The 2011 meeting will be held at a new location--the Event Center in the new building at the Richland County Fairgrounds!

Additional Scholarship Winners

There were 2 $1,000.00 Basin Scholarship awarded this year.  Brandi Wilkinson received the LYREA member scholarship and Hana Paladichuk received an employee dependant scholarship.

Essay Winner Selected

Lower Yellowstone selected Carl Redman as this years essay winner for the "Youth to Washington Tour." Carl won an all expense paid trip to our nation's capital this June where he joined approximately 40 other students from Montana and North Dakota, along with winners from around the nation to learn about cooperatives. Congratulations Carl!
