Levelized Budget Billing
Are you tired of your monthly electric bills going up and down like a roller coaster? Do you want to not be surprised by the amount of your next bill? As the weather changes outside, so does your electric bill, and that makes it hard to budget from month to month.
It's not just the winter months that are hard on the wallet; if you have air conditioning, the summer months can be just as tough on your budget. Lower Yellowstone Rural Electric Association has introduced our Levelized Budget Billing to help make that budgeting a little easier.
How does it work? Every month LYREA will take your current reading to calculate a billed amount, add the previous 11 months' amounts and average these to calculate the budgeted amount. Therefore, your bill will fluctuate only a few dollars from month to month; it's actually a moving average. In order for this to calculate properly, it is important that we receive a current reading each month. Please contact our office between April and August if you are interested in signing up for Levelized Budget Billing.
This service is available to all residential customers who are current, have an "A" credit rating, and have established a 12-month history of service with LYREA. The customer can remain on Levelized Budget Billing as long as their account remains current. If you have any questions, contact us and we would be happy to answer any of your questions.

Drop Boxes
Drop boxes are available as a convenient way for you to return your bill. Boxes are located at the following locations:
- Our main office on Highway 16 NW (Culbertson Highway), in Sidney, MT 59270
Or, one block north of the South 40 just East of Reese & Rays IGA grocery store.
Late Payment
On the 10th of every month a late payment charge of $1.00 or 1.5%, whichever is greater, will be assessed to all accounts with a previous month's unpaid balance.
